CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences) is an internationally oriented, interdisciplinary research unit jointly established by Hannover Medical School (MHH) and Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH). CELLS conducts research, offers teaching and consultancy in relation to ethical and legal aspects of the life sciences.

CELLS was established in September 2010 and is currently based in the Institute for History, Ethics and Philosophy of Medicine (MHH) and the Institute for Philosophy (LUH). The directors of CELLS are Professor Daniel Strech (MHH) and Professor Nils Hoppe (LUH).
